About the photograph
I took this photograph for my daughter. At the time, I was obsessed with Werner Herzog’s Aguirre, der Zorn Gottes, and I was especially into the costumes and the idea of a disguise.
I was pretty much a full-time father, and every day before dinner we dressed up, played games, read… This photo shows exactly that my photography is, above all, a documentation of my life. Incidentally, I had to really laugh when Hedi Slimane used tiaras in his last collection. My interpretation of the image is of a fortune teller, but if you would ask my daughter, she would answer: Princess.
