“There are no images of people. Just empty landscapes mostly—it’s like an empty city,” says Capitán.
“It’s called ‘Freeway to Disappearance’ because that’s what life is like on a road trip: death and disappearing.”
The zine contains Capitáns photography from her last trip to the West Coast and features writing she has be working on over the last two years.
“I think words are very precious, and if put together in the right order they can create a linguistic masterpiece that feels like your favorite painting,” Coco says in an interview with highsnobiety. “People call this poetry, but I prefer not to use that word, because poetry seems reduced to poets and language intellectuals.”
