The first monograph by Spanish-born, NY-based photographer Luis Sanchis is a kaleidoscopic showcase on the impressive body of work that the imaginative artist has conjured up during his 20+ years career.
The book features images he produced for UK magazines such as The Face and Arena during the 1990’s, as well as campaigns for clients such as Nike and Gucci and collaborations with musicians like Daft Punk or Robbie Williams.
Sanchis did the cover shot for Williams’s 2002 record “Escapology” which was quite something.
Besides images of rather famous people like Kate Moss, Karen Elson, Jude Law or Vincent Gallo just to name a few, the book contains also photographies with a more personal touch.
With his signature style of saturated colours and deep shadows, Luis Sanchis has created a distinctive look in modern analog photography that hasn’t lost its sensual appeal (just think of the infamous Gucci campaign from 1997) and that is still referenced on a regular basis.
